We might say that everyday thinking is but a shadow cast by the enlivening thinking that is Imagination. Likewise, ordinary feeling is the shadow cast by Inspiration, and ordinary willing is the shadow cast by Intuition. We strengthen our normal faculties through meditation. Eventually, beings penetrate along the paths opened up through this meditation.
