It considers key issues and highlights global trends in waste production and management, using accessible graphics, maps and text both within and beyond the scope of the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Wastes and their Disposal. The main objective is to raise public awareness of the need for environmentally sound waste management in order to help conserve natural resources and promote sustainable development.
